Growing fresh food, healthy habits, and community connection just outside of Madison, Wisconsin.
A seven-acre working farm where children, youth, families, and community members come together around food, nature, and each other.
Tilly's Farm is a small farm and garden on seven acres in Verona, Wisconsin, built around a simple idea: children, families, and communities grow stronger when they are connected to land, food, and each other.
In partnership with Reach Dane Head Start, Feist Vocational Counseling & Placement, and Fitchburg Farms, the farm provides eggs and produce to families with young children, creates meaningful roles for young adults with disabilities through animal care and food distribution, and serves as a gathering space for families, elders, and providers across south-central Wisconsin.
The farm is home to one turkey, four goats, more than sixty chickens, two bunnies, two dogs, and the Arango-Escalante family, who founded and operate it.

A 5,000-square-foot garden, a fruit orchard, and more than sixty laying hens produce fresh food for families connected to Reach Dane Head Start. Families and educators plant, tend, and harvest in community.

Goats, chickens, bunnies, and Tilly the turkey bring children face to face with where their food and care come from. Young adults with disabilities lead much of the animal care.

Families, educators, volunteers, and community members co-design how the space is used. Everyone who shows up shapes what happens here.
