Innovating at the intersection of families, policymakers, and funders to ensure all communities offer young children and their families the services and supports they need to be economically secure, equipped for lifelong learning, and connected, safe, and healthy.
Too often, decisions impacting children, families, and communities are made without input from those with lived experience. This may result in wasted time and funding, misaligned services, and underutilized programs during children’s most critical developmental period, ultimately leading to exacerbated inequities and lack of multi-generational opportunities.
With support from policymakers and philanthropists, those with lived expertise will be elevated and included decision-making at local and state levels. This “inside-outside government” way of working will set the stage for future decision-making, redefine 2Gen systems and policies, and result in families having access to programs and services that meet their needs. More globally, this approach will advance equity, family economic mobility, health, and overall well-being across multiple generations in unimaginable ways.
After 20 years leading local, state, and national cross-sector government work related to early childhood education, special education, and multilingual education, Erin started All Children Thrive to provide "both-and" instead of "either/or" opportunities with communities and policymakers.
